Position Overview:

At GDIT, you will be at the forefront of innovation, playing a vital role in improving agency operations.
Impact of the Role:
Under general supervision, the Intermediate Systems Engineer will conduct high-level systems analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and implementation of complex applications requiring extensive administrative and technical expertise.
Responsibilities include directing and participating in all phases of system development, with a focus on planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing, and acceptance phases (IV&V and DT&E). Utilize advanced business or technical principles and methods to solve challenging technical problems, leading to automated engineering solutions.
Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings as required. May be tasked with serving as Task Leader, ensuring quality and service delivery for specific tasks.
Analyze customer requirements, operational concepts, and high-level network architectures to develop tailored requirements and specifications. Manage multiple projects simultaneously from design through implementation.
Guide users in formulating requirements, advise on alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies. Communicate technical information effectively to both technical team members and non-technical coworkers.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices to provide optimal solutions and protection for government systems. Develop and maintain network architecture and design documentation, contributing to the continuous improvement of systems architecture.
Engage with government representatives regarding network engineering considerations and associated challenges. Ensure the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables related to the Network Engineering domain.
Communicate effectively with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives. Analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues, and propose solutions to ensure efficient network operations.
Lead the definition and execution of systems engineering activities within projects, providing a comprehensive overview of all aspects of network development from mission needs analysis to network performance verification.
Requirements for Success:
Education:
Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience
Essential Skills:
Mitigate risks, control costs and schedule variances, and effectively manage large-scale, integrated projects. Review and approve systems engineering documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Clearance Level:
TS/SCI
Required Certifications:
DoD M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE)
Desired Certifications:
MCSA 2016/2019/Azure, Linux+, VCP-DCV, etc.
Additional Information:
Candidates must be willing to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by contract requirements. The position may involve physical activities such as lifting IT hardware and reaching/bending for cable connections. Travel may be necessary to support mission objectives.
