Texoma Community Center (TCC) is one of 39 Texas Community Centers, which are governmental entities as defined by Title 7 of the Texas Health and Safety Code.

Position Summary: To provide counseling and case management services to clients diagnosed with substance use disorder, and often, co-occurring mental illness. To provide screening, comprehensive assessment, diagnosis/diagnostic-impressions, and treatment in the form of out-patient substance use disorder, group and individual counseling to identified clients, in accordance with appropriate licensing rules. Provides treatment within the HHSC/TAC/ASAM approved evidence-based practices for outpatient substance use disorder treatment program under the direction of the Substance Use Disorder Program Director. Knows and ensures compliance and fidelity with all state and federal statutes as well as all contract and/or licensing requirements for the Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program. Participates with the treatment teams in developing appropriate treatment plans for clients being served in the program in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Texoma Community Center. Cross-training in all programs under the SUD department as well as obtaining/maintaining QMHP-CS qualifications required. All services are provided through a trauma informed care model. In addition to providing SUD treatment services, this position provides comprehensive and through training to new SUD teammates; ongoing training and support for the SUD team, through and complete review of all teammate files for compliance with regulatory requirements; and coverage of SUD caseloads in the event of teammate absence and/or transition in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Texoma Community Center. Operates under trauma-informed and recovery-oriented models of care which align with CCBHC standards.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or another applicable field is required.
  • Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor-Intern Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker in good standing with the State of Texas is required (must be eligible to bill all insurance, MCO, and Medicaid panels).
  • Minimum of 2 years of LCDC experience in programs with medication assisted treatment options preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental illness required.
  • Training in Recovery Oriented Systems of Care & Trauma Informed Care required.
  • Knowledge of Opioid overdose and prevention preferred.
  • Experience training and/or teaching highly desirable.
  • DOEP certified administrator/ facilitator highly desirable

Certificates, Licensure, Registrations:

  • Current LCDC/ LCDC-Intern/LPC/LCSW Texas licensure-required.
  • Teaching degree/certificate preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to speak a second language relevant to population served preferred.
  • Experience working with CMBHS preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated, organized and detail oriented.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Smart Care EHR.
  • Thorough and complete understanding of all SUD Programs and ability to train others.
  • Consistently practices Trauma-informed Model of Care, understands and considers the pervasive nature of trauma.
  • The knowledge of cultural differences and ability to work with individuals from different cultural backgrounds.

  • Ability to generate, digest, interpret, and translate to practice all national and state regulations, operational and maintenance and organizational policy / procedures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written formats.
  • Ability to understand and train re: trauma-informed care, ROSC, and client-centered care.
  • Ability to acknowledge and translate substance use disorders as a chronic condition requiring long-term, on-going care and commitment from treatment providers, family members, and supportive allies.
  • Ability to train new and existing teammates in all SUD related policies, procedures, programs and requirements.
  • Ability to work with skill in identifying solutions to both client related and training obstacles as needed, and to work to resolution with SUD Director.
  • Ability to effectively supervise LCDCs, LCDC-Interns, students, and volunteers, and to document all supervision and training sessions.
  • Ability to be flexible with weekly schedule (evening and weekend hours may be required).
  • Ability to adapt to ever changing best practices and learn new programs and training requirements as added to the department.
