JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the CEO, the Business Development Manager will plan, implement and participate in outreach efforts designed to improve relationships and grow patient volume. Primary efforts are targeted toward Physician Recruitment, community groups and other potential health care partners. The goal is to grow business opportunities and maximize referrals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Conduct regular visits with local and targeted providers to monitor satisfaction, show appreciation for their business and address needs and interests as they arise.

2. Assist with on-boarding new physicians recruited by SMC.

3. Conduct planned interactions, as the hospitals interface, with office managers and clinical leaders of local clinics to extend relationship services.

4. Work with the marketing team to support promotional activities.

5. Document each provider encounters including any open requests or needs and the follow-up plan.

6. Prepare reports, summarizing retention and service activities, identifying trends opportunities and barriers to provide loyalty and commitment.

7. Bring forward new business opportunities that are revealed through field interactions.

8. Communicate trends in service, communications and operations barriers expressed by providers that affect ability to develop long-standing, loyal relationships with providers.

9. Work with clinical and operational leaders to ensure a system is in place for addressing and reporting physician issues and needs.

10. Arrange and facilitate introductions of new SMC specialists to targeted referral prospects.

11. Arrange introductions of WNJ clinical services, access points and specialists to new providers moving into SMC's service area.

12. Performs special tasks as requested.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

2. Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or marketing preferred.

3. Experience in physician relations, network, marketing or business development preferred.

4. Strong project management and plan execution skills with ability to respong to multiple competing priorities.

5. Knowledge of hospital operating environment and customer service program preferred.

6. Requires majority of time out of office on business prospects.
