Are you looking for an opportunity to join an established organization where you can utilize your retail banking expertise and grow professionally? State Bank Financial is seeking a Retail Development Manager who has a keen interest in the area of retail banking processes, procedures, and documentation, and sharing that knowledge with others.

Position Summary

Responsible for executing the underwriting, origination, compliance, procedure documentation and training of retail deposit products and consumer loans. Serves as the Retail team subject matter expert for the core system. Recognizes and creates opportunities to enhance processes and procedures to remove obstacles for the retail team. Ensures all documentation is complete, accurate, timely, and in compliance with all regulations. Understands and completes job responsibilities in accordance with federal and state compliance regulations. This role will also focus on triaging any problems that may arise from day-to-day functionality of retail bank programs.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Provides administrative support to the Director of Retail which includes but is not limited to adherence to all compliance regulations, bank policies and procedures. Ensures the highest level of customer satisfaction according to our Culture of CARE.
  2. In partnership with other key stakeholders, will help coordinate and/or manage the following programs:
    1. Core system Platforms (Teller, Deposit, Deposit Origination)
    2. Online lending solutions
    3. BSA program and monitoring software
    4. New account fraud monitoring software
  3. Contributes to improving systems by recommending and reviewing enhancement requests from frontline employees, contributing, and interacting with user groups, and working with software support; test software upgrades for functionality and identifies problems.
  4. Assists Information Technology and Operations Teams as a business subject matter expert with the deposit origination, teller, and consumer lending platforms for process improvements and/or efficiencies.
  5. Performs the functions of originating and underwriting of consumer loans.
  6. Provides frontline customer sales and service, back up branch personnel as needed.
  7. Evaluation of missing documentation of branch work, retail audit checklist and follow-up with retail employees for proper completion of task.
  8. Develop and update consumer loan, new account and teller processes and procedures.
  9. Train Bank associates in the origination, processing, underwriting, and closing of consumer loans.
  10. Identify and create process improvements in the day-to-day operations of the retail banking team and other lines of business as needed.
  11. Assists the Director of Retail with the management and oversite of the retail banking team.

Software/Technology

Strong working knowledge of MS Office products; ability to effectively utilize State Bank Financial operating systems. Utilizes a variety of office equipment including computer printer, calculator, fax/scanner/copier, and multi-line telephone.

Education and Experience

Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. Previous banking, lending, and customer service experience required.

  1. Must possess ability to maintain the integrity of highly confidential customer and Bank information; legible handwriting; effective problem-solving skills.
  2. Must have ability to be bonded to obtain Notary certification, and NMLS certification.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Serves on bank committees as needed.
  2. Update knowledge and develops professionally on a continuing basis. Participates in internal and external training and development opportunities as required.

Working Conditions

Work is performed largely in an office environment, during normal business hours. Deadline pressure is an integral part of the job. Regular mental and visual concentration for computer usage and reading/assimilating complex and technical compliance information is required. Position will alternate between walking, sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and occasional lifting up to 15 pounds of office supplies and/or documents throughout work shift.
