PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES

Under the supervision of the Factory Supervisor, the Lead will possess competency in all areas of their department. The Lead will coordinate the training of new employees on the manufacturing processes of WINCO; assist employees with troubleshooting as situations arise with a positive attitude; exhibit WINCO’s core values of Integrity, Quality, Job Knowledge, Adaptable, and Continuous Improvement; model the behaviors of a leader in the treatment of other employees and adherence to company safety and quality standards.

JOB INTERACTIONS AND INTERFACE

This role interacts with internal staff in specific environments depending on the Leads department placement.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Show an understanding of manufacturing standards for work performed within the department and assist others in the department in achieving desired standards for efficiency and utilization.
  • Be the point of contact within the department providing support internally to the department and externally if support is needed from Supervisors, Engineering, or QA.
  • Understand the workflow process and scheduling of department work in accordance with production work schedule. Daily production plans and daily deliverables will be discussed with the lead to support knowing where to focus and prioritize the work within the department. The lead will communicate with others in the department on topics shared by factory supervision. These can include, but are not limited to: working overtime, quality alerts, and shifts in daily production plan.
  • Assist in problem identification within the department and participate in problem resolution.
  • Be responsible for initiating your department’s Line Calls to QA, Blue Req’s to Material Handling and Maintenance Requests to Maintenance.
  • Lead production pilot runs going through the department to ensure improvements are documented and relayed to appropriate areas.
  • Assist in coordinating the training of employees within the department as needed and per the training matrix. Ensure new employees acquire knowledge of Winco safety, quality, and manufacturing principles.
  • Ensure all in the department are reporting accurate information in Epicor.
  • Coordinate time off so that the factory has sufficient leadership coverage between the factory supervisor and other department leads.
  • Be First Aid certified.
  • Other duties as assigned.
