Job Summary:  The Director of Operations will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operations activities in the organization, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization.  


Essential job functions:

 

  • Create a culture where exceptional people desire to work to their highest level and are appreciated for their performance. Develop a center culture that thrives on clear expectations and accountability for performance results.
  • Develop & implement operational controls to ensure that KPI results are effectively monitored, analyzed, and used to identify center process improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and executes to EBITDA annual budget with assistance by CFO, including but not limited to expense and capital budgeting, planning, inventory (asset & product - SKUs), cost controls, revenue and productivity objectives, interpretation of analytical reports/metrics, and operational execution.
  • Manage SOPs to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA, Dept. of Agriculture, GMP, operation audits, company standards and policies, local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Act in collaboration with Human Resources to source and retain talent, support training and development, succession planning, and consult on team member relations concerns.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.
  • Collaborates with other divisions and departments to conduct the organization’s goals and objectives.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:


  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains management-level staff in the department.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the departments.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Manages discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Oversees Distribution, Purchasing, Sales, IT, Warehouse, and Loaders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field preferred, preferably in Food Distribution, Logistics, or Supply Chain fields; MBA desired
  • 7+ years of proven leadership in supply chain, distribution, and transportation in the Food Industry.
  • Problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Goal and results-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Team builder with a win/win approach.
  • Proven ability to persuade, inspire, influence, and negotiate.
