Position Purpose:

The Benefits Specialist will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the US Benefits program. This hands-on role involves resolving company benefit issues, assisting with vendor management, creating communications, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support the growing renewable energy business.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the efficient operation and administration of current benefit programs, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to benefit functions and maintain associated records.
  • Ensure that programs are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Specialize in Human Resources at the professional level, administering and advising employees and management on the interpretation of benefit policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Advise individuals regarding eligibility and coverage for various benefit programs.
  • Administer Leave of Absence programs for multi-state populations.
  • Communicate provisions of benefit packages through various channels.
  • Assist in reviewing and approving benefit vendor invoices for accuracy.
  • Assist the HR Director with the administration of Employee Events and Office functions.
  • Perform other HR duties as assigned.

Performance Measurement:

Performance will be assessed six months after initial hire and then annually. The role will be measured against California Bioenergy, LLC activities and metrics, including costs and cost-effectiveness, process efficiency and productivity, timeliness in delivery of services, customer satisfaction of stakeholders and clients, and other areas of review.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Healthcare, or a related field.
  • Professional Certification such as CEBS, PHR, or other Human Resources program is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of ADP Workforce Now.
  • Experience with California benefit administration.

Working Conditions:

  • Job Type: Full-time, Office-based
  • Location: Dallas, TX
  • Working Environment: Office worker, indoors, under controlled conditions.
  • Physical Requirements: May include walking, sitting, or standing at a desk, and using office equipment including but not limited to computers, printers, and phones. May lift items up to five pounds during the normal course of business. Some travel to field locations may occur where protective equipment may be required.
