Manager, Inventory Optimization
Reports to: Director, Supply Chain Last Update: January 26, 2023

Overview:
This position leads the inventory optimization function for Archrock. Ensures an adequate supply of product to meet
customer service needs while minimizing working inventory investment. Performs inventory demand analysis and Min Max
planning for business units and stocking locations. Maintains the settings in the inventory planning systems to ensure
accurate inventory forecasts and planning. Manages the Corporate Planners, and coordinates with Buyers and Field Planners
to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient inventory replenishment.

Essential Duties (Approximate % of Time Spent)
Leads Planning function for Archrock (~50%)
· Determines and executes appropriate planning strategy and direction for Archrock, including tools, processes, routines,
roles and responsibilities.
· Continuously looks to increase planning capabilities and functionality, including management of planning process
improvement projects.
· Manages and coordinates direct and indirect planning resources to optimize inventory levels.
· Establishes and actively monitors inventory performance-related KPIs and works proactively with the business to
improve them. Works to eliminate obsolete and slow moving inventory.
· Maintains an awareness of current company and market conditions in order to adjust planning as necessary. Analyzes
data and creates reports related to key planning and supply chain activities.
Implements and maintains Min-Max Inventory Planning using inventory optimization tools and Oracle Inventory
Management System. (~25%)
- Effectively utilizes inventory planning tools’ advanced functionality to optimize inventory stocking levels
- Allocates team resources to perform periodic inventory planning for business units. Assists in this process as necessary.
- Ensures all necessary planning data is captured and effectively utilized to provide accurate results, including historical
usage, sales, planned and unplanned maintenance, part number changes, unit mapping, revenue forecasts, etc.
- Coordinates inventory planning modifications related to organizational changes
Works with business units to maintain and improve planning parameters, service levels and inventory planning. (~25%)
- Serves as point of contact for business units for all inventory planning issues
- Coordinates inventory planning cross-functionally to support business objectives and metrics including part sales,
customer service, fill rate, stock outs, inventory turns, cost savings, inventory obsolescence
- Leads cross-functional activities to redistribute, return, or dispose of slow-moving or obsolete material
- Participates in monthly Business Unit Reviews, makes stocking level change recommendations, etc.
- Identifies, negotiates, and resolves conflicts
- Travels as needed to inventory locations for support and training related to inventory optimization

Knowledge:
- Thorough knowledge of min-max planning, inventory management, forecasting, and warehouse management concepts
- Extensive knowledge of supply chain integrated business system (Oracle preferred)
- Knowledge of and experience with Inventory Planning and Optimization Tools.
- Knowledge of and experience with Sales and Operation Planning (S&OP) processes
- Experience leading cross-functional projects related to the Planning process
- Understanding of key performance indicators in assigned area and related impact on financial results
- Change management principles

Minimum Education and Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in Business/Supply Chain or equivalent experience
- CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager), CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) certification through ISM
(Institute for Supply Management) or APICS CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) preferred

Minimum Experience:
- Typically at least 15 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain with a demonstrated pattern of increased responsibility
- Minimum seven years’ experience in an inventory management role
- Minimum seven years’ experience with inventory optimization tools

Leadership:
- Expected to serve as a resource to others for problem solving, knowledge transfer, and training
- Works effectively with direct reports and indirect resources to deliver results
- Expected to lead projects, initiatives and teams

- Regularly required to stand, walk, and bend with good balance, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands

- Regularly required to sit, perform repetitive duties, and use a PC and to talk and hear

Problem Solving and Innovation:
- Analyzes planning data and metrics on an on-going basis and develops recovery plans as needed
- Finds solutions to a diverse scope and range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of many
factors and potential conflicts between business units, local supply chain and planning requirements
- Implements preventative and corrective actions in a timely manner
- Expected to frequently identify opportunities and to recommend and lead initiatives to drive process improvements,
methods, and improvements to teamwork, efficiency and quality
Impact:
- Actions and decisions related to Inventory planning impacts company financial performance and customer service levels
across the enterprise.
