General Description / Position Summary:
The position of Senior Hunger Programs Coordinator (On-Site Meals) administers front line,
effective customer service to Three Square’s Senior Meal sites. This position serves as a
coordinator of Three Square’s Senior Meals program, and provides essential support to
Senior Meal sites, meal clients, and internal organizational teams to further our mission of
ending hunger in our community sites. In absence of the Senior Hunger Programs
Coordinator (Driver), this position will safely operate Three Square vehicles consistent with
Class C Driver’s License and State of Nevada and Three Square safe driving guidelines to
safely load, transport, and unload food and other related product to Three Square’s Senior
Congregate & Community meal and may be asked to occasionally assist in the Three
Square Community Kitchen with meal and equipment preparation
- Provide excellent customer service and create a warm and welcoming environment for
all clients, community partners, and volunteers in a professional, friendly, and helpful
manner at each meal site.
- Ensure execution of meal service to include but not limited to set-up, clean-up, data
collection, and serving meals.
- Build relationships with meal site partners and any related organizations
- Collect and record data through any required forms and trackers and through any
operation systems such as the use of Ceres, Social Assistance Management System
(SAMS), and Oasis Insight.
- Create and/or collect client satisfaction surveys, comment cards, and verbal feedback
from clients at all sites and record data for analysis.
- Maintain sign-in sheets for every meal and assist with meal service at each site,
including set up and clean up.
- Respond to site inquiries/issues and follow up as needed. Provide excellent customer
service by following up on matters of concern until they have been sufficiently resolved.
Communicate recommendations to the Registered Dietitian through ongoing
communication.
- Provide clear, concise communication to operational departments at Three Square to
ensure excellent customer service with ordering, packing, delivering, and
recruiting/coordinating volunteers, as necessary. Identify operational trends that lead to
challenges/barriers/delays and work collaboratively to solve problems.
- Successfully complete any required food service-related training and elder protection
training required by the federal, state and local governments, and/or any grants.
Maintain required job knowledge, skills, and core professional competencies.
- Assist with advertising meals using multiple mediums: targeted outreach, in-house
created flyers and materials, and collaboration with Marketing. Maintain data tracking for
marketing efforts and identify the most successful methods based on participation
among seniors.
- Track and secure adequate number of emergency grocery bags for older adults if
needed at sites and report distribution numbers to Senior Hunger Programs Manager on
an ongoing and regular basis.
- Collect information from interested seniors for programs like senior food pantries, SNAP,
Senior farmers market coupons, commodities, energy assistance, etc. at all sites, and
coordinate with the Benefit Services Outreach Manager and/or Supervisor to ensure
Three Square wrap-around services are made available to clients as appropriate.
- Assist in gathering other information/data as needed for interdepartmental use or other
reporting requests.
- Coordinate senior-focused educational classes, presentations, and activities in
conjunction with the Senior Meal.
- Maintain a positive work environment by conducting all communications with colleagues,
supervisors, interns, and volunteers in a professional, friendly and helpful manner. Be
articulate and concise in communication, whether it is in speaking or in writing.
- Manage confidential information relating to clients, agencies and donors, and make
reports on elder abuse, as appropriate, and with full knowledge of the Registered
Dietitian and Senior Hunger Programs Manager.
- Work with the Registered Dietitian to identify areas of program improvement and work to
implement changes in program as needed.
- In the absence of the Senior Hunger Programs Coordinator (Driver):
- Operate Three Square vehicles to pick up and deliver meals, products, and
equipment to senior congregate & community meal site. Ensure vehicle is
properly loaded, secured and within weight limits.
- Follow a schedule of pick-ups and deliveries; maintain record of pick-up and
delivery activities, as well as other records deemed necessary by Three Square
Registered Dietitian, Three Square Senior Meals Coordinator, and/or our
partners.
- Effective time management skills will have to be a priority due to food safety
regulations.
- Ensure equipment pre and post trip inspection reports are filled out accurately,
completely, and correctly to ensure compliance with State, Federal laws and
Three Square guidelines.
- Load and unload trucks by hand, pallet mover equipment, two wheeler/ cart and
lift gates.
- Report vehicle maintenance and equipment repair needs, may need to
perform light maintenance such as maintaining air pressure in tires, vehicle
fluids, and installing bulbs.
- Comply with specialized regulations, such as US Department of
Transportation, food handler, warehousing also federal and state regulations.
- State of Nevada regulations and Three Square's operation of motor vehicle
policy.
- Perform other job functions as requested or assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
At least one year of customer service experience is required. Experience interacting with the
aging population with diverse backgrounds is a plus. Ability to speak, write, and read in Spanish
is a plus. Experience driving large vehicles requiring only a Class C driver's license, including
those with a lift gate, or willingness to learn to operate such vehicles is a plus. Any combination
of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the
position.

Working Environment
This position requires working indoors in an office at Three Square or at diverse sites outside of Three Square. Employee will use computer and phones extensively and drive frequently for work. Occasionally work outside of normal working hours, such as evening or weekends is required. While performing the duties of this job, occasional exposure to outside weather conditions will occur.
