Job Description – Returns Specialist Description

The Returns Specialist facilitates customer returns accurately and efficiently. They should be a self-starter and have a positive, can-do attitude. They should be comfortable communicating across multiple departments and with outside vendors/distributors. They will use their best judgement to maximize customer satisfaction while minimizing company losses.

Responsibilities

• Navigate ERP software to create and process customer returns

• Request RMA from distributors and coordinate shipments with warehouse

• Facilitate warranty exchanges for items under manufacturer’s warranty •

Provide support to customer service department with regards to complex return issues

• Create return shipping labels for customers

• Observe trends in return volume and escalate issues to management that reduce profitability

• Clean, test and grade electronics for functionality

• Assist in training new Returns employees

• General housekeeping: sweep, dust, remove trash, etc.

Position Requirements

• Reliable transportation

• Make and receive voice telephone calls

Education

• High school education or equivalent

Knowledge & Experience

• Previous returns experience preferred but not required

Specific Skills

• Good decision making and problem-solving skills

• Strong attention to detail

• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office with a strong emphasis on Excel

• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills

Work Conditions

• 40-hour week, Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm

• In-office full-time Irvine

• Computer-based position, sitting for extended periods of time (attending virtual meetings)
