Security Dual Lead

Summary:
The mission of the Security Department is to ensure the physical security and safety of patrons and employees, safeguard assets, and safeguard the property. The Security Officer performs duties anywhere on Red Mile property to include all floors and locations within the facility as well as the exterior campus as needed. Red Mile Security Officers do not use force to accomplish their mission and do not perform law enforcement duties.
Qualifications:
Essential:
· Two (2) years prior Security or relevant experience
· Effectively communicate: verbally and written
Desirable:
· One (1) year prior Security supervisory experience
· Associates Degree or equivalent hours of education from an institution of higher learning
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
· Determine personnel requirements. Plan and supervisor on-the-job training. Continually evaluate personnel for alertness, appearance and proper performance of duties. Schedule leave time and replacements needed for adequate coverage.
· Respond to all calls for assistance and emergencies on campus, internal and external. Report matters of concern to Security Director; inform department heads as necessary.
· Investigate complaints from guests and employees; follow-up with Surveillance on matters captured by video surveillance;
· Prepare and submit written and verbal reports
· Contact emergency entities and other outside resources as needed to manage an incident
· Ensure Red Mile equipment and assets are in a state of operational readiness, report repair or related needs to Security Director
· Coach, counsel and administer discipline within established authority;
· Must have the ability to obtain and retain a Kentucky Horse Racing Commission license
Requirements:Minimum Qualifications:
• Candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, enjoy and create a team environment.
• Must be able to communicate in English; Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
• Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
• Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members.
Physical Requirements:
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs., while performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for long periods of time and occasionally stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, knee, crouch or crawl, talk and hear. Excessive walking, standing, exposed to extreme temperatures as must go from interior to exterior of the building during all seasons and weather conditions.
