The Vice President of Information and Technology is responsible for the organization's technology strategy, implementation, and maintenance, ensuring we fully leverage digital innovations to achieve our goals and enhance our work processes. The VP’s leadership covers all aspects of UPLIFT Desk’s technology systems and data. This role involves leading the development, streamlining, and maintenance of internal and external data and information systems that support leadership, staff, and stakeholders; driving the development, improvement, and market growth of UPLIFT Desk products; and defining and supporting best practices in project and vendor management. The VP will be a change agent, advocating for data-informed decision-making and driving prioritized progress on technology projects.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a demonstrated ability to create opportunities to better serve internal and external constituents through data, technology, process improvement, and best practices. The VP’s leadership will facilitate increased cross-functional collaboration, expanded system integration, and improvement efforts, improved efficiency in internal operations and with external vendor partners, and deeper stakeholder engagement. The VP will lead and manage the team toward high collaboration and performance with an outcomes-oriented approach. Additionally, the VP will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, shaping and supporting strategic, financial, cultural, and organizational priorities. The VP reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience and Leadership: 10+ years of experience leading user-centric design and technology for global organizations, with a proven track record as a leader in IT, or similar role, specifically using a NetSuite or Hubspot environment. This includes designing, developing, and deploying new technologies and related services to meet evolving programmatic needs.
  • Management and Financial Responsibility: 5+ years of management and staff development experience, with a history of progressive budget responsibility. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects on budget, by deadline, and to the satisfaction of various partner groups.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of technology and data systems, with practical skills in planning and ongoing improvement to meet user needs. Strong expertise in NetSuite and its integration with e-commerce, HubSpot, and warehouse picking platforms, along with in-depth knowledge of web technologies, software development, and IT infrastructure.
  • Process Management and Organizational Skills: Highly skilled in process management and effective organization, balancing attention to detail and the big picture, immediate priorities, long-term goals, and the needs of people and projects. Proven initiative skills, including the ability to plan ahead, be resourceful, and work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Educational Background and Compliance: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (advanced degree preferred). Experience with data security, regulatory compliance, and risk management. Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technological solutions.

  • Knowledge of ECommerce industry
  • Experience with cloud computing and SaaS solutions
  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications
  • Expert at automating work and processes throughout the company
  • Familiarity with NetSuite, BigCommerce, Hubspot, Avalara, Pacejet, Numina, Google Workspaces, or equivalent systems

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement the company's technology strategy, keeping costs optimized while supporting business goals and optimizing processes. Keep systems operational and business functions active.
  • Oversee all aspects of technology development and IT operations, including NetSuite integration, supply chain and production designs, and process automation.
  • Lead and mentor the technology team, fostering innovation and excellence. This role will directly oversee the following teams: System Administration, Help Desk, and Knowledge Management.
  • Collaborate with departments to enhance customer experience, maintain data security, and improve business processes through technology initiatives.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends to maintain competitiveness.
  • Manage and maintain the company-wide knowledge base, ensuring it is up-to-date and accessible.
  • Evaluate, implement, and integrate new software and tools, with a focus on systems within the NetSuite, HubSpot, and BigCommerce ecosystems.
  • Develop and oversee comprehensive training programs for new technologies and processes.
  • Provide strategic vision and manage the technology and product portfolio, setting priorities and allocating resources.
  • Conduct regular IT system audits, manage vendor relationships, and develop long-term plans for operational support efficiency.
