Position Summary:

The Talent and Development Manager is a pivotal role within Talent & Development and overall People & Culture team. The Talent & Development Manager is responsible for delivering innovative training solutions and development programs across various organizational levels & functions.


The Manager, Talent and Development will have a blend of strategic ownership of programs and hands-on facilitation to drive skill growth across Welch's. If you have a bias for action and are excited by being able to design, develop, lead and drive company-wide initiatives, this is the role for you.


Where You'll Work:

This role will be based out of our Concord, MA headquarters where you will be immersed in a dynamic workplace where innovation thrives and collaboration is key.

Our company in-office schedule is designed to maximize collaboration & relationship building balanced with flexibility and well-being with 3 days in office and Thursdays/Friday being remote, flex days.

***Welch's is moving to a brand new, state of the art space in Waltham, MA June 2025***


What You'll Do:

  • Full ownership, development, and delivery of orientation program and specific learning and development courses for both our manufacturing plants and corporate team members
  • Management and optimization of learning platform and vendor partnership for LinkedIn learning
  • Design, develop and implement culture and development programs tailored to the needs of a diverse and inclusive workforce
  • Utilize instructional design techniques and methodologies to create engaging and effective learning experiences
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops, engaging with employees across all levels both in-person and virtually
  • Lead and manage development projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational objectives
  • Measure and assess learning effectiveness, providing and acting on insights and recommendations and to focus on continuous improvement and optimization
  • Identify and incorporate external best practices and lessons learned into program plans
  • Leverage learning technologies and stay updated on emerging tools
  • Provide recommendations using upcoming trends on new practices, tools, trainings and modalities
  • Conduct ongoing needs assessments to identify new development opportunities across the organization
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities as needed

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and partner across all levels and functions of a diverse organization
  • Entrepreneurial, self-starter who can creatively solve and anticipate business learning needs

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Human Resources, Business, or related. An equivalent combination of education and experience that proves ability to perform role may be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with instructional design, training facilitation, organizational design and program management
  • Experience supporting a multi-faceted workforce with both hourly and salaried employees preferred (i.e. manufacturing, retail, hospitality, etc.).
  • Experience partnering and working with all level of an organization.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with e-learning platforms and virtual training tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 20-25%.
  • Start-up experience a plus
