Summary
The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for performing a full range of technical and administrative human resources management services relating to coding and processing personnel actions, and Staffing & Recruitment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide office support functions such as answering the phone, document scanning, and filing.
- Manage external email boxes to communicate and receive documentation from applicants and external sources.
- Document and verify receipt of proper forms (including, but not limited to resumes, SF50s, and DD214s) for applicants and upload the documents in a government furnished automated application and tracking system.
- Maintain an electronic and a hard copy of all applicant records.
- Prepare and distribute a variety of form letters to applicants.
- Communicate with division offices to obtain information or documents.
- Extend tentative or final offer letters.
- Process, type and distribute HR personnel documents (SF52s).
- Perform the full range of processing payroll or personnel actions in EmpowHR and the NFC databases, and complete History Correction Update processing (HCUP).
- Prepare and submit pre-employment packages (Background Investigation and Drug Panel) as outlined in agency's guidance.
- Perform data analysis and develop and maintain spreadsheets.
- Use eRecruit (USA Staffing) systems to review and prepare draft vacancy announcements.
Requirements:
- Must have at least four years of experience with an Associate's Degree or at least two years of experience with a BA or BS degree in related field.
- Must have knowledge of and experience in coding or processing a variety of personnel actions as outlined in the Guide to Processing Personnel Actions, pay setting and personnel hiring systems.
