As the Assistant Clinical Director will work in tandem with the Clinical Director and/or Regional Clinical Director to provide effective leadership to clinical teammates. This position assists the Clinical Director in clinical program development and will maintain a high level of performance by providing clinical guidance, direction, training, assessment, and feedback to all clinical teammates to address the needs of the clients/patients we serve.

Required education and experience:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited educational institution in an appropriate behavioral science, mental health discipline, or recognized helping profession.
  • Current and unrestricted independent clinical license in state of employment.
    Four (4) or more years’ experience working in behavioral healthcare.
  • Three (3) or more years of clinical leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective supervision and leadership practices.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, direct, and monitor the activities of others with demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Valid driver license in good standing in state of employment and be insurable by the designated carrier.
    CPR Certification – updated as required.
  • MANDT/CPI Certification – updated as required.

Essential functions: In collaboration with the Clinical Director:

  • Lead a team of highly engaged teammates through hiring, scheduling, orientation, training, and performance assessment and management to meet department goals and ensure effective and efficient department operations.
  • Conduct clinical and administrative individual and group supervision with assigned clinical staff as per professional license where applicable.
  • Provide clinical consultation, oversight of case planning and care coordination.
  • Provide support and instruction as needed to clinical team to ensure adequate understanding of the treatment program and service delivery expectations to clients/patients based on the individual treatment plan and clinical needs.
  • Ensure best practices by reviewing and auditing charts for the quality and completeness of documentation, organizing case presentations, and providing feedback to clinical staff to ensure full compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements and standards.
  • Review caseloads regularly to ensure appropriate utilization of services.
  • Responsible for a limited caseload as assigned.
  • Assist the clinical team in providing clinical services when required (individual/group sessions, completion of biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, etc.)
  • Ensure all clinical staff conduct individual and group sessions with clients/patients and document all sessions in the medical record.
  • Review and sign clinical documentation to ensure appropriate and thorough documentation of services provided as necessary and as indicated in professional clinical license.
  • Conduct and be present/engaged in regular meetings and training opportunities with the team to ensure consistent communication and practices (including flash, treatment team, case presentation, clinical team meeting, etc.)
