As a *Registered Nurse*, you will oversee and coordinate all nursing and medical care for patients in the absence of the Nursing Director.

This position is crucial for delivering medical services directly to patients while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations regarding medical records and files.

*Experience in chemical dependency and/or mental health disorders, including psychopharmacology, is preferred.

  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in the substance abuse and/or mental health field.
  • Ability to triage in emergencies, assisting nursing staff during medical crises.
*Three (3) years of experience in chemical dependency and/or mental health disorders, including psychopharmacotherapy.
*Conduct screenings and assessments for co-occurring medical issues to evaluate risk factors for appropriate treatment placement.

  • Ensure adherence to the treatment plans established by the physician or medical director.
  • Facilitate and educate patients in group settings on issues related to chemical dependency, infectious diseases, and both medical and mental health concerns.
  • Document and summarize individual nursing care for each patient, communicating any changes, progress, or immediate medical needs to the provider for follow-up.
  • Order medical supplies and maintain an accurate inventory and usage records in accordance with regulations.
  • Maintain all medical records, including individual charts, daily medication logs, dosage records, progress notes, and physician's orders. Counsel patients on personal hygiene, abnormal lab results, HIV/AIDS testing, and other medical matters, including treatment changes.
  • Provide referrals for specialized care at local health centers as needed. Assist in coordinating patient transfers between different levels of care.
  • Aid in training team members on medical conditions, responses, and patient care protocols.
  • Maintain continuing education credits as mandated by the Board of Nursing.
  • Participate in team meetings and complete all required training courses in a timely manner.
