We are currently looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to maintain the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying the U.S Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records. This is an onsite in office position located in our Camarillo, CA office.

Description of Essential Job Functions:

  • Facilitates and complete month-end closing procedures including, but not limited to: Analysis and reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts for certain domestic and/or foreign entities. Maintain and reconcile various intercompany accounts with collaboration from foreign offices. Analysis of all operating expenses.

  • Responsible for Fixed Assets subledger and related Construction-in-Progress and related Depreciation schedules for certain entities.
  • Assists in the preparation financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule for certain entities.
  • Assists in the preparation of other reports provided to management as requested, including variance explanations.
  • Prepares certain audit deliverables and may work with external auditors to support the annual financial statement audit.
  • Support initiatives to develop and improve accounting processes and procedures.
  • Interacts with management in various departments within all levels of the organization.
  • Ensures accuracy of transactions and financial statements in accordance with GAAP and/or IFRS accounting.
  • Develops procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Ensures compliance with and/or follows all organizational systems, programs, training, policies, and procedures as required and complies with relevant legal mandates. Seeks guidance as necessary.
  • Actively supports and participates in the safety program, both for self-protection and the protection of other employees, by reading and abiding by all requirements in the Safety Manual and Injury Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).
  • Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical and professional manner.
  • Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Handles various other duties as delegated by Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounting and Operations and Financial Reporting, preferably with a global company.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Expert knowledge in Excel needed including VLOOKUP’s, formulas, and Pivot Tables
  • Experience with ERP systems. Microsoft Dynamics or Navision a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Federal, State and Sales Tax a plus.

Working Conditions

  • May infrequently be asked to travel.
  • Will occasionally have to work evenings and/or weekends.

Physical Demands

  • This position is considered light work - exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the employee sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: viewing a computer screen.
  • Frequently required to maintain a static position, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Work Environment

  • The work environment is typical office or administrative work.
  • Work environment is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
