About the Position: 

As an Assistant Project Manager, you play a pivotal role in overseeing various aspects of construction projects while demonstrating management and supervision experience. In the absence of the Project Manager, you assume daily responsibility for each project, ensuring efficient and safe operations. By effectively planning, organizing, and controlling projects, you create a productive work environment, managing both materials and personnel.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Complete all checklists from the production handbook and document activities via daily logs.
  • Establish and maintain a running list of tasks and activities on the job site.
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping by maintaining meticulous time cards.
  • Continuously review the scope of work and plans for each project.
  • Attend pre-construction meetings to align with project objectives.
  • Submit daily logs promptly on Buildertrend to track project progress.
  • Request necessary materials in a timely manner for each project.
  • Verify that all delivered materials and supplies match invoices and are free from damage.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in project management aspects of Buildertrend.
  • Review and adjust project schedules daily to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Keep carpenters and laborers productive through effective supervision and task allocation.
  • Coordinate with inspectors as needed to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of project scope, plans, and budget.
  • Assist the Project Manager in managing projects effectively.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage your team's tasks for up to one week in the absence of the manager.
  • Perform general carpentry tasks as required.
  • Uphold a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to guidelines, standards, and procedures.


Education, Experience, and Skills Required:

  • Strong experience in construction documentation
  • Proficiency in architectural finishes.
  • Knowledge of building codes and zoning regulations is a plus
  • Minimum of two years of experience in construction field.
