SUMMARY
The Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Director is a key business partner to Sales, Marketing, Operations and Finance, responsible for leading the full S&OP process, integrating forward-thinking demand, supply and financial planning insights.  The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in demand planning for fast-moving consumer goods, with experience working with supply chain network optimization and inventory planning.  This person will directly oversee the demand planning team and be responsible for improving and standardizing tools, data sources and templates across the full S&OP cycle.

We’re seeking an individual with excellent facilitation and communication skills in order to work with different stakeholders across areas that are integral to meeting the company’s goals.  S/he should be agile and collaborative with the ability to analyze needs based on capacity and capability, make pertinent connections across data and analytics and develop solutions where problems persist.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive S&OP strategies that align with organizational goals to enhance overall business performance.
  • Sales & Operations Planning: Drive the S&OP process, coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely data exchange and decision-making. Facilitate regular S&OP meetings to review performance, address deviations, and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Enhanced Reporting: Prepare a variety of monthly S&OP reports suitable for presentation to senior management, combining demand and supply topics.  Develop insightful reporting to measure business performance and provide recommendations for improvement. 
  • Forecasting and Demand Planning: Lead the development of a consensus forecast and collaborate with commercial teams to address questions/challenges and drive focus.  Synthesize insights across various forecasts, elevating key takeaways and decisions.  
  • Supply/Production Planning/Inventory: Collaborate with the Supply Chain Leadership team to enhance tools, capabilities, and insights to improve execution and risk mitigation of the supply plan.  Identify and assess implications between demand and supply.
  • Process Improvements: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of S&OP processes, making data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.  Identify opportunities for usage of advanced technologies and tools to enhance S&OP processes, improving efficiency and accuracy.

  • Ability to compile data from different sources, analyze and synthesize into actionable insights
  • Strong organizational skills in strategy, communication at all levels, and execution.
  • Strong leadership skills. Ability to lead, contribute, and influence others in a team-based organization
  • Excellent people and project management skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner.
  • Strong demonstrated use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Expertise, or demonstrated learning agility with systems such as IBP, SAP, Power BI, and data mining
  • Ability to work independently, balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Growth mindset and interest in professional development

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance or equivalent and 8+ years of relevant work experience required.  MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
