POSITION SUMMARY

The Inventory Control Manager will be responsible for managing inventories of internal and external finished goods to ensure that product availability meets customer demand. Leads and analyzes current inventory levels, production cycles, and sales forecasts to determine reorder levels. Drives disposition of potential risk inventory and controls liquidation of outdated stock. This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Inventory and Control and is based out of our Cherry Hill, New Jersey location.


Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Develop implement and monitor all key functions related to inventory transactions to ensure they are accurate, timely, and efficient
  • Leads detailed inventory management to avoid low stock or overstock
  • Design and publish monthly reports on finished good inventory position and liabilities
  • Drives targets and measurables as related to inventory control
  • Applies appropriate optimization methodologies to balance service, finished goods inventory levels, and resource utilization
  • Analyze and perform root cause finished good inventory issues and provide resolutions
  • Manages full entity waste initiative to track, mitigate, and root cause finished goods waste – conduct value stream analysis and develop KPIs to measure success
  • Develop initiatives to reduce slow-moving inventories and improve weeks forward coverage
  • Manages safety stock to mitigate risks of shortfalls
  • Enhance warehouse capacity modeling for growth analysis using complex data sets
  • Manage and track inventory flow at internal and external warehouses
  • Review plant inventory activities to identify and drive improvement opportunities
  • Leads routine inventory control audits and reconciliations to validate accuracy, drive improvements as identified
  • Provide recommendations for better inventory control
  • Facilitate disposition of outdated inventory while mitigating cost impact
  • Leads toward and supports a culture of lean/continuous improvement and works to make business and department improvements wherever possible
  • Partner with demand and production planning teams to maintain an effective balance of service, efficiency, and inventory
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ years of related experience, Master’s Degree preferred
  • APICS CPIM/CSCP certifications preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma techniques
  • Experience in managing inventory levels in a complex supply chain network
  • In-depth knowledge of inventory management software (ERP – QAD/SAP)
  • Proven experience in analyzing data and getting measurable results from that analysis, experience Qlikview preferred
  • Experience or knowledge of statistics, forecasting and managing information methods and techniques
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Results-driven with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology and maintain databases effectively
  • Advanced Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, V-lookup, etc.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced dynamic environment with changing demands and priorities
  • Possess excellent written communication skills for reports and presentations
  • Professionalism to work effectively and collaboratively across multiple levels of the organization

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the food/beverage industry (preferred)
  • Experience in Manufacturing or production environment
  • Ability to direct, coach, and train others.
  • Consultative, influential, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting.

FREQUENT: Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in area of responsibility. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).

OCCASIONAL: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
