Job Summary: Due to growth, HonorBridge is recruiting for a Manager of Materials Control. The Manager of Materials Control provides leadership, direction, and accountability for the oversight of purchasing, receiving and managing inventory for clinical activities, assuring appropriate par levels. Supports the mission of HonorBridge, and reflects positively on the company.

  • Manages the Inventory Control System.
  • Ensures adequate supply/inventory par levels are maintained
    • Follows HonorBridge purchasing policy and procedures
    • Investigates and resolves discrepancies of goods received and purchases clearing
    • Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels, including ordering and receiving materials, and coordinating with suppliers to resolve any issues. Reports regularly on inventory, expiration, and quarantine release
    • Works with staff to transfer/stock supplies to workspaces
  • Manages the cleaning, sterilization and wrapping of instruments for organ and tissue operations
    • Ensures instruments are available for clinical operations
    • Sharpening and replacing dull instruments as necessary
  • Running sterilization and verification cycles
  • Lead inventory count process, review outcomes of inventory discrepancies and compile for review
    • Monitor space requirements and own action plans for expanding capacity required - space, freezers, etc. or recommendations on alternatives
    • Develop and maintain plan for cycle counting protocol
  • Recommend and develop process improvements related to FIFO deployment
  • Actively assists with the HonorBridge quality assurance process.
    • Routinely monitors and audits departmental performance
    • Measures and reports quality metrics for the Materials Department
    • Works with Chief Financial Officer to obtain best pricing by managing contracts
  • Ensures HonorBridge clinical spaces are clean, safe and organized.
    • Oversees regularly cleaning of work areas including sterilization room
  • Responsible for assuring adequate staff for the completion of supply ordering and sterilization of instruments.
    • Hire, train, lead, develop, and mentor employees
  • Performs other duties as assigned by HonorBridge management.
  • Occassional travel to other NC based offices

Physical Requirements: Sitting, standing, occasional lifting (up to twenty pounds), finger dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and visual acuity

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelors Degree required. Degree in logistics or inventory related field strongly preferred
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience required. Experience in logistics, inventory management or materials inventory strongly preferred.
  • 1-2 years supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with a high level of integrity
  • Experience with inventory control software preferred
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data in high-pressure situations
  • Knowledge of operating room environment
  • Experience in form completion and documentation
  • Commitment to organ and tissue donation.
