What you'll do:

  • You will confidently run the lifestyle and celebrity verticals to support the VP, Editorial and Content in assigning high-traffic content that resonates with Realtor.com's audience to a dynamic team of writers.
  • You will oversee our Unique Homes, Celebrity Homes, Reality TV, Decor verticals by setting the tone, style, and standards for the content, as well as top-editing. You will develop content ideas that anticipate the trends, needs, and interests of our target audience, as well as the competitive landscape. You will also be key in developing Realtor.com's video strategy across these verticals.
  • You will need to have a knack for spotting exclusive celebrity content, and be able to strategize how to grow Realtor.com's presence in this space. You will be adept at using internal metrics and use data to guide your decision-making.
  • Your role will include strategizing, generating innovative ideas, forward planning, editing copy, and occasionally writing. This is a key role in Realtor.com's editorial team and you'll be working collaboratively with other editors.

What you'll bring:

  • 12+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree;
  • Impeccable editing skills and editorial judgment, with the ability to handle legally sensitive stories;
  • Solid experience in developing content strategies across digital journalism and video to build and retain a large audience ;
  • Strong SEO skills;
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to juggle several tasks at once;
  • Experience in managing a team.

This is a full time role based in either New York City, NY or Austin, TX. This is a highly collaborative hybrid environment where you will work in the office three days a week.

At Realtor, we recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates.

The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect in the listed locations. We tailor our offers based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, location and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process. All ranges are location based, ranges for positions in other locations may vary based on the local market.

Salary Range for select office locations

  • New York $156,800 to $223,400

Pay-for-performance is a key element in our strategy to attract, engage, and motivate talented people to do their best work. Accordingly, offers extended for this role will include an annual bonus target typically expressed as percentage of salary. Similarly to salary, annual incentive bonus targets are set based on a variety of factors including job level, competitive market practice, experience, tenure, and essential skills.
