Role Summary: Reporting directly to the Deputy Editor, the Senior Lifestyle Editor plays a pivotal role in steering the Lifestyle section. This position entails crafting, assigning, and refining 20-30 articles monthly that resonate with our audience. The ideal candidate will be adept at navigating various topics, primarily focusing on mental health, relationships, and holistic wellness, while also exploring areas like parenting and home life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce, revise, and enhance a minimum of 1-2 articles daily.
- Generate and propose innovative lifestyle concepts inspired by current events.
- Optimize content for SEO and refresh evergreen articles.
- Leverage analytical tools and social media platforms to derive new content ideas.
- Establish connections with a diverse array of lifestyle experts for interviews and insights.
- Build and maintain a network of reliable freelance contributors.
- Collaborate with the Head of Content and Deputy Editor to elevate the Lifestyle section.
- Contribute to comprehensive editorial projects and brand initiatives.
- Attend relevant events to gather insights for content development.
- Stay informed about emerging lifestyle trends to ensure timely and relevant content.
- Represent Well+Good at various online and offline engagements, reinforcing our brand's authority.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in writing, reporting, or editing within the health and wellness sector.
- Proven track record in editing with a focus on SEO best practices and expert interviews.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Deep understanding of the health and wellness landscape, with a knack for identifying trends.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in utilizing analytics tools to extract meaningful insights.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster authentic connections with our audience.
- A creative mindset and a passion for producing high-quality digital content.
