Role Summary: Reporting directly to the Deputy Editor, the Senior Lifestyle Editor will spearhead the Lifestyle section, overseeing the creation and refinement of engaging content. This role entails writing, assigning, and editing 20-30 articles monthly, with a focus on diverse topics such as mental health, relationships, and holistic wellness, among others. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for emerging trends and innovative storytelling, always infused with a wellness perspective.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce, revise, and manage a minimum of 1-2 articles daily.
- Generate and propose trending lifestyle topics based on current events.
- Enhance SEO and evergreen content strategies.
- Leverage analytics tools and social media insights to inspire fresh content ideas.
- Build and nurture relationships with a variety of lifestyle experts for interviews and insights.
- Maintain a strong network of reliable freelance writers.
- Collaborate with the Head of Content and Deputy Editor to elevate the Lifestyle section.
- Contribute to comprehensive editorial projects and brand initiatives.
- Attend relevant events to gather insights for content development.
- Stay informed about lifestyle trends to identify new opportunities.
- Represent Well+Good at various online and offline platforms, reinforcing our brand's authority.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in writing, reporting, or editing within the health and wellness sector.
- Proficient in editing with a strong grasp of SEO best practices and expert sourcing.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Thorough understanding of the health and wellness landscape with trend identification skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with analytics tools to derive actionable insights.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building authentic connections with our audience.
- A creative mindset and a passion for producing high-quality digital content.
