PURPOSE:

The Assistant Executive Director reports to and partners with the Executive Director to lead the delivery of high-quality services in a person-centered environment. The assistant executive director collaborates with the Executive Director to drive service excellence, resident satisfaction, associate engagement, financial management, sales, and marketing performance to meet occupancy goals and assist with strategic planning. Responsibilities include managing business office functions, life enrichment, and front offices (transportation, security, and receptionist).

HOURS:

Works 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Other hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, may be necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1 . A mission-driven passion for serving the adult senior population.

2. Ability to handle conflict and stressful situations with diplomacy and tact.

3. Be a positive change agent by helping residents and associates; communicate and build excitement for new programs, ideas, policies, etc.

4. Must demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills.

5. Understand Federal, State, and Local regulations and proactively respond to changes in compliance issues and deadlines.

6. Excellent literacy, writing, documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

7. Strong technological skills in various software systems such as YARDI, Welcome Home, payroll, and applicant tracking systems. Strong desire and aptitude to learn new systems

8. Tact, courtesy, and compassion must be used when relating to residents, families, visitors, and other associates.

9. Education: Bachelor's degree preferred in administration, business, gerontology, or related field.

10. Experience: At least 2-3 years of progressive experience in a leadership position working with senior adults and managing associates.

11. Must be able to be on 24-hour call and to respond to facility emergencies via telephone or in person, depending on the situation.

12. Must be able to lift, bend, walk, walk up and down stairs, and provide minimal assistance to residents.

DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Executive Director

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Directly supervises department heads, including the Life Enrichment Director, the Director of Front Offices, and the Business Office Assistant.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain a positive working relationship with prospective residents, current residents, associates, and members of the community.

Works closely with residents and their families, gauges satisfaction by proactively working on viable solutions in areas of dissatisfaction and understanding their ongoing needs.

Be available and approachable to answer inquiries and provide help or guidance.

Serve as a subject matter expert in the business office functions including managing the departmental budget, accounts payable and receivable, corporate credit card payments, and Employee Assistant Fund.

Oversee life enrichment and front office functions, providing leadership, guidance, and support as needed.

Assist department leaders with developing a vision for their departments and holding them accountable to deadlines and deliverables.

Assist in developing and implementing annual operating and capital budgets. Assist with managing operational expenses to meet budget goals.

Assist in the execution of the Marketing Plan.

Represent One Lincoln Park to the community and maintain positive relations with local government and organizations to advance business needs.

Other duties may be assigned.

Working knowledge of managerial responsibilities related to employment law such as FMLA, ADA, Anti-Discrimination, Anti-Harassment, and FLSA.
