Purchasing/Inventory Control Coordinator

Job Description:
Sorting Robotics Inc. is looking for a Purchasing/ Inventory Control Coordinator to help procuring inventory and organizing supplies for the production staff. The position reports to the the Production Manager.
Preferred: Must be comfortable with cannabis (preferred you enjoy it and have experienced it) as we manufacture robotic innovations for the legal cannabis market in the US and Canada.
The Purchasing/ Inventory Control Coordinator’s primary duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist with the procurement of materials and supplies needed for production.
- Buys materials within cost estimate and delivered on time
- Follow up on all open orders, including ship date, tracking number or status.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing and terms of contracts.
- Conduct research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
- Work with management to determine special needs, situations, or changes required for ordering or delivering of product
- Assists the operations department with fulfillment and quality control.
- Coordinate and oversee daily warehouse operations, including stock management, order fulfillment, and shipping receiving.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
- Coordinate with production planning to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Maintain inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and prevent shortages
- Assist in the development and implementation of purchasing strategies.
- Manage and organize warehouse inventory, assisting team members with storing and locating items from the warehouse.
- Help out around the shop with miscellaneous tasks required by the production team
- Keeps warehouse clean and organized
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in purchasing or procurement role.
- Strong knowledge of materials management principles and practices.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
As a Purchasing/Inventory Control Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain. You will be responsible for procuring materials and supplies needed for production, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and maintaining accurate records of purchases and inventory levels. Your attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to analyze data will contribute to the success of our purchasing department. Requirements
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Van Nuys, CA 91406: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Experience:
- Procurement: 1 year (Preferred)
- Purchasing: 1 year (Preferred)
Work Location: In person
