Nestled at the breathtaking Haystack Mountain, The Hermitage Club stands as the East's only exclusive private ski resort, offering an unparalleled blend of luxury and exclusivity. At its heart lies the spectacular 90,000 square foot Austin Design post-and-beam lodge, a testament to elegance and craftsmanship.

We are in search of a seasoned Facility Director of Engineering who is not only adept at strategic oversight but also hands-on and deeply focused on the intricate maintenance of our state-of-the-art buildings. The ideal candidate will prioritize the upkeep of our luxurious lodge and its facilities, ensuring every detail meets the highest standards of quality and performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, painting, energy management, and small machinery.
  • Hands-On Maintenance: Conduct and supervise routine maintenance tasks within the building's interior and exterior, including structural repairs, window, door, plumbing and minor carpentry tasks. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure immediate and effective resolution of issues.
  • Building-Centric Focus: Prioritize maintenance and repairs within the lodge and its facilities, ensuring that all building systems function seamlessly and reflect the resort's commitment to luxury and excellence.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage larger capital or maintenance projects, coordinating with external vendors and resources.
  • OSHA Oversight: Ensure a safe working environment by maintaining MSDS sheets and adhering to all OSHA regulations.
  • Timely Response: Address engineering requests and work orders promptly and professionally. Repair plumbing issues to prevent water damage and ensure full functionality of water fixtures.
  • HVAC Management: Maintain and troubleshoot the building's HVAC systems to ensure optimal climate control.
  • Specialized Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep of laundry, kitchen/refrigeration equipment, lighting, water treatment, and swimming pools.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance and engineering, preferably within a hotel, office park, resort, or similar environment.
  • Strong technical expertise across multiple trades, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration.
  • Hands-on experience in conducting maintenance and repairs, demonstrating a proactive approach to addressing and resolving issues.
  • Exceptional project management skills with a track record of successfully leading and completing large-scale maintenance projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to maintenance and repairs.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team and coordinate with external vendors.
