This is an office/hybrid position based out of our Louisville, KY office.

What the Role Is

The Director, Technology Services will lead the Information Security, Infrastructure, and Service Desk teams at Heaven Hill. This position will drive alignment of these functions with company and IT strategic goals and operational requirements, convergence of these practice areas to create holistic solutions, and drive maturity improvement based on industry-standard frameworks for the three domains under their supervision to significantly reduce risks to the business, improve user experience and service delivery, and manage a cost-effective operation.

The Director will work closely with the business partners, external vendors, and peers within IT to mesh technology and process solutions to ensure security, performance, stability, scalability, cost-effectiveness, and availability. Ideal candidates for this position will have strong business outcome orientation and a broad background in senior-level leadership. A working understanding of cyber security, infrastructure, and IT service is required to enable the effective guidance towards the defined vision state. A strong understanding of financial management for IT organizations (expense and capital planning, tracking, management, forecasting) is also necessary for success. The leaders of the assigned IT functions will report to this new position, and this role will report to the CIO.

How You Will Spend Your Time?

  • Collaborate with IT organization peers on providing the leadership necessary to deliver annual and strategic goals
  • Lead the technology infrastructure strategy, execution, and operations for the company
  • Develop, plan, and implement a robust information security program for the company
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the service desk team to ensure customer interactions meet relevant SLAs which continue to improve the end user experience
  • Evolve and maintain alignment of these strategies and roadmaps with business objectives
  • Collaborate within IT on digital infrastructure solutions, utilizing modern architecture practices, and ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, strategy, and objectives.
  • Capital and expense budget planning, performance tracking, and short- and long- term forecasting and track record in delivering ROI commitments.
  • Define the current and future state levels of maturity required in the functional areas, and develop and implement roadmaps to achieve these states.
  • Drive culture of continuous improvement to improve quality, efficiencies, and standards across the infrastructure organization
  • Define and evolve a rolling 8 quarter IT roadmap for systems management, aligning them with the capital and expense budget processes
  • Lead and facilitate the evaluation / recommendation of new technologies or capabilities that can be applied to business problems
  • Manage strategic vendor partner relationships to understand and plan for technology roadmaps and support services
  • Ensure availability of the resources and skills needed to support all work initiatives.
  • Forecasts new skill requirements based on emerging technologies.

Who You Are…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 10 years relevant IT services work experience
  • Minimum 5 years in a senior managerial/leadership (Director) role
  • Experience with information security
  • Experience with disaster / cyber incident recovery designs and operations
  • Experience with infrastructure technologies (including but not limited to networking, compute, storage, enterprise and cloud security, end user technologies)
  • Familiarity with security frameworks, standards, and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO, GDPR, HIPAA)
  • Familiarity with IT management frameworks (e.g., ITIL, CMMI)
  • Ability to work directly with business partners and end users to generate consensus around technical directions
  • Strong communication, negotiation, storytelling, and verbal and written presentation skills – verbal and written are required
  • Demonstrated history of developing and successfully implementing complex, multi-year strategies and resulting programs
  • Track record of budget and financial management for IT
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and business partnering skills
  • Superior organization, planning, and project management skills
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical foundation
  • Ability to operate and navigate high levels of ambiguity

Valued, but not Required Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar relevant field
  • Certifications in infrastructure and/or security fields (e.g., Cisco CCXX, CISSP)
  • Experience establishing cloud operations
