ELCCO is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead the development of sales and marketing in Maui and its neighboring islands. The ideal candidate will have more than 5 years of business-to-business development experience. The individual hired to fulfill this role will lead our new sales and marketing effort as a department of one.

Primary Accountabilities

Responsible for all phases of solar and electrical project Sales, from lead origination to contract execution:
  • Identifying new business opportunities by refining current target market plans, customer needs, and emerging industry trends. Evaluates the viability and profitability of new markets and customer segments to propose to leadership through the development of new target marketing plans.
  • Building and maintaining client relationships involves developing and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry contacts. Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and addressing any issues or concerns promptly is essential. Understanding our unique value proposition and working closely with our team is critical.
  • Strategic planning and execution require developing strategic plans to achieve business growth and market expansion. This includes setting long-term objectives and creating actionable plans to meet them in accordance with our existing strategic planning rhythm.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement strategies that drive sales growth is a critical part of their role. This involves creating and delivering presentations and pitches to potential clients, generating and following up on leads to convert them into clients by working directly with our leadership, estimating and solar departments.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about market trends, competitors, and potential threats is necessary. Analyzing data to identify opportunities for business growth and improvement is also crucial.
  • Providing feedback and insights helps improve products and services. If we have areas of improvement, we want to know
  • Setting and managing budgets for business development activities is part of their financial management responsibilities. They also prepare financial reports and forecasts related to business development efforts.
  • Leading negotiations with clients and partners to secure beneficial deals is important. Overseeing the creation and management of contracts ensures compliance and favorable terms.
  • Tracking the performance of business development activities against set goals and objectives is necessary for performance monitoring and reporting. Preparing weekly activity and lead reports for senior management on progress, challenges, and opportunities is also part of their duties.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of business development professionals is essential for team leadership and development. Ensuring continuous improvement and professional development within the team is key to their success.

Qualifications and Certification Details:
The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, hands-on, results-oriented, and a team player.

  • Five or more years of work in a B2B development role, with a successful track record in growing and maintaining client relationships.
