Job Description

Pay Range:  $70,375 to $87,975 per year

Purpose of Position:

To direct and supervise the catching and transporting of fryers to the processing plant in a timely manner designed to meet the kill schedule with the highest degree of quality at the lowest cost possible.

Essential Job Functions:  

  • Provide supervision and direction to employees.
  • Direct the pickup and transporting of fryers.
  • Meet with the foreperson at the beginning of the work shift and assign duties.
  • Ensure a safe working environment.
  • Make decisions on how many birds per crew.
  • Checking on crews while at the ranches and assuring all is running well.
  • Correcting any problems necessary.
  • Coordinating shipping schedules with all forepersons, scheduling and plant personnel.
  • Establish and enforce company and department safety and production standards.
  • Oversee and/or provide necessary safety training for forepersons and employees.
  • Work with other departments, as needed for overall division planning and proper recordkeeping and employees, to include documentation of all disciplinary actions.
  • Attend meetings and miscellaneous training sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned. 
Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science, Ag Business, or related field or 4 to 7 years of chicken grow-out experience at a supervisory level.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented. Must have the ability to multi-task and change direction.
  • Must have knowledge of basic accounting principles and solid knowledge of PC-Excel and Word.
  • Must be highly self-motivated, assertive, objective, resourceful, and work independently with little supervision.
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment and critical thinking ability.
  • Must be able to evaluate employees fairly and objectively; must possess strong human resources skills.
  • Excellent teamwork ability.
  • Must have a strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Class C driver’s license and clean DMV record.
  • Must be able to follow and enforce all company policies and guidelines including Biosecurity and Animal Welfare.
  • Must not own any birds where resides.
  • Other duties as assigned.
