Position Purpose:
The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the efficient catching and transportation of fryers to the processing facility, ensuring adherence to the production schedule while maintaining the highest quality standards and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and guide team members in their daily tasks.
  • Coordinate the collection and transportation of fryers.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to assign roles and responsibilities.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Determine crew sizes based on operational needs.
  • Monitor crews at ranch locations to ensure smooth operations.
  • Address and resolve any operational issues that arise.
  • Collaborate with forepersons and plant staff to manage shipping schedules.
  • Implement and uphold safety and production standards within the department.
  • Facilitate safety training for team members.
  • Work cross-departmentally to support overall planning and documentation efforts.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agricultural Business, or a related field, or 4 to 7 years of supervisory experience in poultry operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail; capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Self-motivated, assertive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and sound judgment.
  • Ability to evaluate team members fairly and possess strong human resources skills.
  • Excellent collaboration skills.
  • Strong mathematical and mechanical skills.
  • Valid Class C driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Adherence to company policies, including Biosecurity and Animal Welfare standards.
  • Must not have any personal poultry ownership.
