API is currently looking for an IT Technician to support the organization with software installation and troubleshooting, hardware troubleshooting, and maintenance of end user workstations.
Position: IT Assistant
Schedule: Monday - Friday 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Hourly Rate: $20 to $23 per hour, based on experience
Position Summary:
The IT Assistant position on the IT team is critical in supporting Microsoft desktop and other applications for the organization. Responsibilities include installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of required software and hardware on-site, diagnosing technical and training issues at the user level and working interactively to resolve them. This role also provides installation, and maintenance of end-user workstation equipment (laptops/ desktops) and additional peripherals including IP telephones. This position will split time between an office and warehouse work environment.
The position reports to the IT Specialist at API and adheres to departmental policies and requirements. The role primarily supports Microsoft Enterprise and other applications, including Office 365, OneDrive, BambooHR, Mimecast, and other IT-approved tools or software products.
Job responsibilities and essential duties:
- Provide IT system and user administration support.
- Supports IT asset management and inventory management processes and practices.
- Identifies and resolves issues related to desktop, applications, or network performance.
- Provide on-site support for direct help as well as escalation of issues.
- Coordinate with the IT infrastructure team regarding configuration and change management policies, to ensure awareness, approval, and consistency of desktop and applications support.
- Develop and maintain adherence to infrastructure and information security best practices, documentation, policies, and procedures.
- Liaise with other IT personnel for problem resolution.
- Offer improvement solutions as well as maintenance for IT related equipment.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of the Windows desktop operating system environment (Windows 10) and the full Office 365 suite. At least five years of experience in a computer support role with knowledge of computing hardware, software, voice/phone system, and/or desktop implementation/support preferred.
- Basic knowledge of networking including setup and deployment of networked printers.
- Strong experience with Microsoft suite of products.
- Knowledge of Windows domain preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work alone and in a team setting.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
- At least an associate’s degree in IS, Computer Science or a related subject, or equivalent work experience as a substitute
- Experience in a warehouse work environment or related experience preferred.
