HOURS: Full time

PAY RATE: $19.00 per hour

FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt



Role Summary

The Retail Team operates the museum’s award-winning retail store, which carries “best-of” products per category, and is known as a trusted destination for all things sexual wellness and sexual fun. As the Museum of Sex grows and expands, the retail component is a key piece of that expansion. The Stock Team plays a critical role in supporting the Business Goals of Retail by promoting a positive customer experience through filling the floor and ensuring product is presentable, visually appealing, and correctly priced. Teamwork is a staple throughout our entire operation. The Stock Team works closely with other Retail Team members to create an unforgettable experience for all museum visitors. We believe in fostering our staff’s abilities to learn and grow on the job.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct and report weekly Cycle Counts and Loss Prevention Counts

  • Manage supplier issues and challenges with tact

  • Collaborate daily with the Product Manager, Retail Manager, and Stock Supervisor regarding inventory tasks

  • Oversee receiving new shipments, analyze and resolve count discrepancies, report issues to supervisors, and process merchandise entering the building

  • Provide detailed solutions on existing and potential stock problems regarding the stockroom, merchandise, and the sales floor

  • Ensure all inventory policies and procedures are maintained within the stockroom

  • Ensure material availability, timely distribution of merchandise to the retail floor, and customer satisfaction by collaborating with the Sales Team

  • Conduct inventory and sales audits, and report results to supervisors

  • Conduct quarterly inventory counts of full merchandise and sku’s

  • Oversee stockroom replenishment process

  • Cover Retail Sales floor positions periodically

  • Exemplify a positive “CAN DO” attitude and energy at all times

  • Lead with integrity while inspiring and coaching Stock Associates

  • Able to pick up and move heavy boxes filled with products, on your own and/or with the aid of others (devices and wheeled carriers available)

  • Consistently report top performing KPI’s and the bottom performing KPI’s to supervisors

  • Ensure the stockroom is a safe and professional working environment at all times

  • Ensure quality control of perishable merchandise

  • Remove all merchandise from behind the sales counter on the Retail floor before the start and end of every shift

  • Always achieve and maintain inventory accuracy

  • Communicate and provide benchmarks for ongoing projects with supervisors

  • Maintain inventory distribution, coordinate accurate pricing of merchandise and weekly sale information, promoting organization and proper stock management

  • Manage all reports regarding stock, merchandise, and inventory data analysis including shipping, receiving, and processing

  • Organize product displays in the stockroom and on the retail floor to optimize profitability and maintain cleanliness in both areas

  • Reflect a commitment to prevent shrink, damaged merchandise, maintaining the stockroom and sales floor, building great relationships with your peers, while driving excellent Customer service and Guest experiences

  • Perform additional duties as required

Employee Qualifications

  • You are extremely detail-oriented and organized

  • Ability to process information through the online inventory system and the POS system

  • You have a background in stock, organization, and merchandising

  • You have excellent communication skills, and the ability to connect with people of all kinds

  • You are a dependable and friendly individual that enjoys working with a team

  • You thrive working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • You have the ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays

  • Multilingual is a plus

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and clearly in stressful situations and maintain a calm demeanor

  • Must be a true self-starter and able to execute assignments independently

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
