Job Summary:
The Junior Clinical Analyst supports the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of clinical information systems, including Electronic Health Records (EHR) and other healthcare technologies. This entry-level role involves working closely with clinical staff, and senior analysts to ensure that systems are efficiently integrated into clinical workflows and that users receive the necessary support and training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Support and Maintenance:
    • Assist in the day-to-day support and maintenance of clinical information systems, ensuring they function effectively and meet the needs of clinical staff.
    • Collaborate with senior analysts and teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system performance, data integrity, and user access.
    • Participate in testing and validation of system updates, patches, and new features.
  • Data Management and Reporting:
    • Assist in the collection, analysis, and reporting of clinical data to support patient outcomes.
    • Help create and distribute regular reports for clinical and administrative teams, ensuring data is accurate and relevant.
    • Support data quality initiatives by identifying and correcting data discrepancies.
  • User Training and Support:
    • Provide basic training and support to clinical staff on the use of EHR systems and other clinical applications.
    • Respond to user inquiries, offering guidance and troubleshooting assistance as needed.
    • Assist in the development of user manuals, training materials, and other educational resources.
  • Workflow Assistance:
    • Work with clinical staff and senior analysts to understand and document clinical workflows.
    • Assist in identifying opportunities for workflow improvements and support the implementation of changes.
    • Help ensure that clinical systems are integrated seamlessly into existing processes.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Support efforts to ensure that clinical information systems comply with healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA.
    • Assist in maintaining documentation required for audits and regulatory reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Nursing, Healthcare, or a related field. Relevant certifications or coursework in clinical informatics are a plus.
  • Experience: Some experience in a healthcare setting, internship, or entry-level position related to health informatics or IT support is preferred but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Basic knowledge of EHR systems and clinical workflows.
    • Familiarity with data analysis tools and concepts is an advantage.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
    • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data accuracy and security.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily office-based, with potential for occasional on-site support at clinical locations.
  • Standard business hours, with some flexibility required for supporting system updates or user training sessions.
