Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: HR Generalist
Location: Middletown, NYDay-to-Day Role:
  1. Assist with the Recruitment process by creating Job Descriptions with Hiring Manager, posting jobs on various mediums, identify qualified candidates, submit qualified candidates to HR Director and Executive team, Schedule interviews with Hiring Manager. Assist with managing outside agencies.
  2. Assist with the onboarding process by creating and submitting Help Desk Onboarding Forms, create New Hire Letters, create Onboarding folders and work with new hires to complete the forms. Schedule and monitor Background Checks, Drug Screens and Physicals. Provide Hiring Managers with IT details for New Hire.
  3. Assist with all employee HRIS changes (i.e. address changes, Leaves of Absence, hires, terminations, pay increases, position and department changes).
  4. Excellent working knowledge of Leaves including FMLA, Workers Compensation, Paid Family Leave.
  5. Stay up to date on compliance issues and law changes to be able to speak to employees with basic questions under the guidance of the HR Director. Report more complex questions and issues to the HR Director.
  6. Excellent working knowledge of the Union environment and the grievance process.
Core Skills and Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related experience with another degree.
  2. 3+ years as an HR Coordinator with 1+ years performing Generalist functions.
  3. Full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
  4. Remarkable organizational skills and people management capabilities.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills with decision-making capabilities.
  6. Works comfortably under pressure and meets deadlines.
  7. Meticulous attention to detail.
  8. Superb computer literacy skills with email, MS Office and HRIS systems.
