High volume specialties include orthopedics, neuro, general surgery, total joints, and pain management. We have a highly skilled team of nurses and clinical staff that provide clinical excellence, supporting patients and the surgeons in all phases of the surgical process.
  • Company Growth: Newly opened Interventional Procedural Center and expansion of operating rooms allowing for an additional 1,800 – 2,000 surgeries annually.

What You Will Do:

  • Oversees a pharmaceutical program that ensures services are provided in accordance with ethical professional practice and applicable Federal and State laws.
  • Establishes overall program that meets regulatory requirements (CMS, DOH, AAAHC)
  • Establishes methodologies and completes audits of practices to ensure adherence to best practices for all aspects of medication use in the surgery patient.
  • Perform regular proactive narcotic audits and review of any adverse drug reactions or events and development of mitigation strategies to assure quality improvement activities related to trends.
  • Periodically conducts learning needs assessment of clinical staff and assess facility practice process.
  • Conducts staff training and development related to medication use as needed
  • Evaluates and maintains required programs for pharmaceutical waste, evaluates necessary capital acquisitions and other programmatic needs
  • Assist with medication associated cost containment strategies and helps mitigate drug shortages.
  • Maintain and manage inventory control of controlled substances, legend medication and supplies
  • Educate the perioperative team about medication policies and conduct educational in-services for any new or existing drugs as needed

Skills/Competencies

  • Knowledge of CMS, DOH, AAAHC requirements for pharmaceutical practices
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to develop plans with timelines to be followed to completion.
  • Ability to multitask, manage multiple projects with various timeframes.
  • Ability to communicate and develop a rapport with health care professionals and personnel.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.

What You Will Need:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS/PharmD degree, MS, MHA or MBA preferred
  • 2 years hospital/acute care experience preferred
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a licensed pharmacist and one year in pharmacy leadership
  • Current Washington license as a Registered Pharmacist
