Legal Program Associate / Paralegal - San Francisco, CA

Brilliant Earth is searching for a bright, solution-oriented Legal Program Associate / Paralegal to join our Legal & Compliance team, where you will focus on supporting our commercial contracts, privacy, IP, and other legal and compliance programs. You’ll be joining a small team and will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with stakeholders across the entire company. Your work will directly impact the success of Brilliant Earth.


Ideal candidates will be based near our San Francisco, CA HQ or Denver, CO office. The targeted salary range for this position varies based on experience and geographic location. The range for California candidates is $75k – $100k; the range for candidates elsewhere in the United States is $75k – $85k. This range may be adjusted at any time at the discretion of the company.


What You’ll Do:

  • Assist with contract review, drafting, and negotiation for a variety of commercial agreements, including NDAs, statements of work, vendor agreements, influencer agreements, and consulting agreements.
  • Drive processes throughout the contracting cycle, including coordinating document revisions, obtaining approvals and signatures, managing renewals, updating and maintaining form agreements, and keeping impeccable records.
  • Help implement and maintain a new contract lifecycle management (CLM) system.
  • Maintain data map and record of processing activities, including coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
  • Support IP rights enforcement activities, including receiving incoming infringement reports and filing takedown notices.
  • Assist with SEC filings and provide support for corporate governance matters.
  • Help create and refine processes and procedures to improve the team’s efficiency and scalability.
  • Provide support for other strategic and cross-functional projects as needed.
 

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of paralegal or similar experience; prior in-house public company and contracts management experience preferred.
  • Team player attitude with sound judgment, ability to act autonomously and identify emerging issues and escalate them as required.
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity, with ability to handle confidential information and materials with appropriate discretion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred.
  • Robust working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and e-signature platforms such as DocuSign. Experience with CLM systems and Workiva a plus.
