Key Responsibilities

State Farm Staff Counsel is looking for a Legal Secretary to support our legal team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, adaptable, and resourceful, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Filing subpoenas and ensuring follow-up
  • Preparing legal documents and pleadings
  • Managing calendars and scheduling appointments
  • Following up on medical records
  • Corresponding with clients
Work hours are structured for 7.45 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with flexibility in the exact shift timing.

Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience as a legal secretary is preferred; experience in civil litigation is required
  • Familiarity with Alafile and Alacourt systems
  • Proficiency in legal software and case management tools
  • Understanding of legal and medical terminology, as well as local and state rules regarding pleadings and pre-trial matters
  • Eligibility to work lawfully in the U.S. without sponsorship
