Organization Overview:
GREEN MPNA (Getting Residents Engaged in Empowering Neighborhoods) is a dynamic community-based organization dedicated to improving the well-being of residents in Southeast Santa Ana. Founded in 2011 as an initiative of the Madison Park Neighborhood Association, GREEN MPNA focuses on youth education, health equity, environmental justice, and community empowerment. As a fiscally sponsored project of OneOC, our partnerships with local schools, the Santa Ana Unified School District, the City of Santa Ana, University of California, Irvine (UCI), and other nonprofits and foundations are integral to our mission.

Position Overview:
GREEN MPNA seeks a visionary and enthusiastic Executive Director to lead the organization into its next phase of growth and impact. Reporting to the Advisory Board of Directors, the Executive Director will be responsible for the overall strategic, programmatic, and operational leadership of GREEN MPNA, ensuring that we continue to meet the needs of our community while expanding our reach and effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to social justice, experience in community engagement, and a proven track record of effective leadership and fundraising.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Vision:
    • Provide strategic leadership and vision to advance GREEN MPNAs mission and goals.
    • Foster a collaborative and inclusive organizational culture that promotes excellence and innovation.
  • Program Management:
    • Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and initiatives, including youth educational programs, health equity initiatives, environmental justice projects, and community empowerment efforts.
    • Ensure that programs are effectively meeting the needs of the community and achieving desired outcomes.
  • Community Engagement & Advocacy:
    • Serve as the primary spokesperson for GREEN MPNA, representing the organization to community members, partners, stakeholders, and the media.
    • Advocate for policies and initiatives that support environmental justice and health equity in Santa Ana and beyond.
  • Fundraising & Development:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure diverse funding streams, including grants, donations, and partnerships.
    • Cultivate relationships with donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors to support the financial sustainability of GREEN MPNA.
  • Operational Management:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations and fiscal management of the organization, including budgeting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with all regulations.
    • Manage and support a team of dedicated staff and volunteers, fostering professional development and a positive work environment.
  • Board Relations:
    • Collaborate with the Advisory Board to support governance and organizational development.
    • Prepare and present reports to the Board on the organizations progress and challenges.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree required, advanced degree in public health, social work, environmental science, nonprofit management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of senior management experience in a nonprofit organization, government agency, or related field.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice, community engagement, and environmental advocacy.
  • Proven history of successful fundraising and development efforts.
  • Strong fiscal management skills, including budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in partnership development and collaborative projects.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Compensation:
GREEN MPNA offers a competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience. This is a full-time, exempt, hybrid position with a compensation of $80K - $90K annually. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurances, paid time off, and a 403b retirement plan.
