The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.

Today, we are an alliance of hundreds of local affiliates, state organizations and a national office that work in communities across the United States to raise awareness and provide support and education that was not previously available to those in need. NAMI advocates for all who are affected by mental illness, both the individuals and the people in their lives. We work to address disparities and injustices and to promote dignity and inclusion for all people with mental illness and their families. In addition to being advocates, we educate, we listen, and we lead as evidenced by our public awareness campaigns, the range of programs we provide, and our strong public policy.

We currently have an opening for a Senior Coordinator, Office of Innovation. The Senior Coordinator provides essential support to manage timelines and execute deliverables for the team's major initiatives. The Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support to NAMI's Office of Innovation Department, including scheduling, coordination, follow-up, note-taking, and document filing. The Coordinator will also be the Department's point of contact for NAMI's financial and administrative applications. The Coordinator will have excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and computer skills, as well as highly developed interpersonal skills to be able to work with many people simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

This full-time position is based in our Arlington, VA offices on a hybrid basis.

Salary Range: $26/hr. - $28/hr.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide logistical and administrative support for Office of Innovation-related meetings, events, and webinars, including set-up, note-taking, follow-up, and maintenance of online materials.
  • Input contracts into NAMI's contract management system and monitor consultant hours and payments.
  • Reconcile department credit card charges monthly in Concur.
  • Support development of Task Force tools and resources including coordinating reviews, collating results, assisting with next steps.
  • Assist with proof reading, formatting, and adding graphics into written and visual presentations and reports.
  • Executive support such as scheduling and coordination with partners for National Director and Chief Innovation Officer.
  • Foster collaborations within the Office of Innovation and with other departments
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 1 - 2 years of administrative/coordinator experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Results-driven attitude. Highly productive professional.
  • Ability to organize large amounts of data, track upcoming deadlines and communicate potential issues to relevant staff.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills. This position serves multiple people simultaneously.
  • Experience with Asana, or similar project management cloud software and Microsoft Excel (preferred).
  • Experience with Adobe Connect, Zoom, and/or WebEx.
  • Experience with financial and administrative applications like Concur or Concord.
  • Event planning experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook, database experience is a plus.
  • Must pass background check.
