Job Title: Process Innovation Intern

Job Summary:

APHSA's Process Innovation team is seeking an intern to support the development of public-facing resources and coordinate peer communities, meetings, and events. The Process Innovation Intern will work closely with the Process Innovation team to create tools and resources, support project management practices, and research policies and best practices to inform Process Innovation projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of public-facing resources on core process innovation concepts and approaches
  • Assist with launching and maintaining working groups for government human services staff led by the Process Innovation team
  • Support alignment of project management practices by developing standard tools and templates across the process innovation portfolio
  • Support the creation of capacity tracking tools for process innovation portfolio
  • Coordinate project meetings and events by managing calendar invites, sending agendas, and taking notes
  • Support project-level process documentation

Requirements:

  • Interest in public benefits, public administration, public policy, governance, EDIB, public health, human-centered design, civic technology, community engagement
  • Availability to dedicate a minimum of 10 hours per week and a maximum of 20 hours per week to the internship
  • Minimum education requirement: Undergraduate in their junior or senior year, graduate student preferred
  • Understanding of and/or experience participating in public benefit programs preferred, such as SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid

Qualifications:

  • Strong project management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with project management tools such as Smartsheet, Asana, etc. preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with different contributors and collaborators to achieve shared goals
  • Solid oral and written communication skills and experience producing written products for a variety of audiences
  • Eager to collaborate with internal and external teams on influential projects for health and human services policy and practice modernization
  • Experience engaging with and including perspectives of multiple communities into project work, and knowledge of how structural racism and bias impact underserved and underrepresented communities
  • Proficient in MS Office
