Reporting to the CFO, the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's financial strategy. The position leads forecasting, budgeting, and analysis efforts to provide executive leadership with data to make decisions that are business-focused about operations, finances and strategy. FP&A involves more than just reporting and forecasting. It allows our company to analyze financial and operational data and maximize future performance. Data-driven insights from FP&A will inform strategic decisions to connect the portfolio and contribute significantly to formulating operational and strategic priorities.


The job responsibilities Director, Financial Planning & Analysis include but not limited to the below:

  • Leading the FP&A function and overseeing the strategic finance analysis and reporting system.
  • Establishing processes for financial planning, quarterly and annual budget allocation, and company finance forecasting.
  • Lead cross-collaboration efforts to ensure plans consider all data, variables, and expertise, increasing accuracy and engagement.
  • Analyzing and communicating key financial insights and high-level recommendations to facilitate effective company scaling.
  • Producing a monthly Executive Leadership book that includes historical financial analysis, explanations for variations, an updated forecast with risks and opportunities compared to the current plan, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Enhancing and optimizing the strategic finance system and planning processes for improved efficiency.
  • Advising company executives on enhancing investment strategies, resource allocation, exploring new revenue channels, and achieving cost savings.
  • Collaborating closely with the company's executive team and board of directors.
  • Analyzing business decision outcomes to evaluate financial health and devise short and long-term financial strategies.
  • Coordinate external reporting efforts in SEC/GAAP compliance in overseeing the preparation and review of Forms 8-K, 10-Q and 10-K, including research and documentation related to new accounting pronouncement. Assist in drafting other sections of the quarterly and annual filings with the SEC, including the MD&A.
  • Participate in the quarterly debriefing process and recommend and support the implementation of suggested improvements.
  • Forecasting budgets for various scenarios, incorporating modeling to pinpoint risk factors affecting long-term business growth. Promote continuous planning and rolling forecasts, regularly evaluating the most recent numbers for making adjustments.
  • Analyzing and monitoring the company's financial data, encompassing revenue, spending, and expenses.
  • Assessing financial performance by comparing forecasts with actual results and identifying patterns and trends.
  • Assessing the cost and revenue generated by each practice within the portfolio and finding opportunities for growth.
  • Creating Profit and Loss (P&L), cash flow statements and other reports for executive leadership review.

  • 5+ years of experience as a leader of a management team of a rapidly growing business.
  • Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements
  • Knowledge of Accounting/Finance Management System such as Sage Intacct Accounting a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word) and Teams. Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Excel.
