Financial Planning Analyst (FP&A)

Purpose:
  • Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for Financial Planning Analyst (FP&A) who will be a key support to the Accounting Team and Financial, Planning and Analysis Team responsible for managing a broad range of very complex and complicated accounting and financial tasks. This role will be in Virginia Beach, VA.
Job Description
  • Review and manage input of corrections requested by operations.
  • Review and record weekly time sheet corrections.
  • Review project set up in Costpoint.
  • Prepare and review:
    • Monthly Contract Review
    • Monthly Financial Reports
    • Annual Operating Plan (Budget)
    • Assist w/ Financial Forecasts, as needed, throughout the year
  • Develop process and reports for monthly review of rates for accurate revenue calculations.
  • Assist in the preparation of Schedule I's and other schedules as needed for the annual Incurred Cost Submission.
  • Support and assist with external/internal audit requests including DCAA, year-end and other audits as needed.
  • Provide financial and regulatory reports as required by law, regulations, and company.
  • Ensure compliance with internal company procedures and government regulations.
  • Prepare and review projects for close outs and final invoices/revenue adjustments/unbilled.
  • Compare, contrast, and combine information to determine underlying issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Must have a BA in Accounting/Finance and at least 3 years of professional experience.
  • Must have experience with Deltek Cost Point and Government contracting.
  • Must have a strong financial analytical ability accompanied by knowledge of corporate finance principles - understanding of income statement, balance sheet and cash flow dynamics.
  • Must be able to manage many projects simultaneously and prioritize workload appropriately.
  • Must have the ability to accumulate, organize and manipulate quantitative data to identify and explain trends, problems, and their causes.
  • Must have the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the company.
  • Must be able to take initiative and independence of action in performing the responsibilities of the position and have strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must have the ability to adapt quickly to new systems and a changing business environment and maintain confidential information.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Prefer at least 5 years of professional experience.
  • CPA/MBA preferred.

  • Minimal, 10%
Physical Requirements:
  • Minimal mobility, dexterity, or coordination required to operate common business machines.
  • Filing in an upright position.
  • Maximum lifting required is approximately 40 pounds from floor to three feet in height.
