Executive Assistant
Overview
Highlander Research and Education Center is seeking an Executive Assistant to provide project management and administrative support for our interim Co-Executive Director (Co-ED), who also serves as our Chief Financial Officer. This vital role ensures our Co-ED can effectively prioritize requests, tasks, and information. Additionally, the incumbent will handle essential administrative tasks, enabling our Co-ED to attend meetings with funders, the Board, and other employees promptly and fully prepared.
A typical day would include:
Managing a high volume of confidential communications by reviewing, responding, or re-routing correspondence to the appropriate internal department or individual
Coordinating the Co-ED’s calendar and travel logistics
Assisting with agenda creation, meeting facilitation, and notetaking
Using project management software (Asana) to keep track of, follow up on, and assist in project management for organization-wide projects
To be successful in this role, you need to have:
A proactive and thoughtful approach to problem-solving, decision-making & confidentiality
Previous experience and proficiency in providing high-level admin support and coordination (within a remote or hybrid work environment a plus) using tools such as Google or Microsoft Suite, Zoom, and Adobe products
Demonstrated ability to quickly transition from a novice to an expert in software systems, whether it's project management tools like Asana or Notion, or fundraising platforms such as BlackBaud
A willingness to semi-regularly work non-traditional hours or exceed typically scheduled hours as necessary
Compensation & Benefits
In addition to offering the Executive Assistant position an annual salary of $67,000, we encourage employees, their spouse/domestic partner, and their dependent(s) to take advantage of our 100% employer-paid healthcare plan offered through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee, a vision and dental plan offered through Guardian, and a Health Reimbursement Account to help cover eligible out-of-pocket expenses.
