The VP of Financial Planning & Analysis will drive the financial planning and analysis function, providing critical insights and strategic guidance to support decision-making and ensure financial sustainability and growth. This position is responsible for timely and clear communication to key stakeholders, ensuring strategic vision is supported through planning and analysis and supporting the enterprise direction with actionable data.

Essential Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning & Forecasting:
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting activities.
  • Develop comprehensive financial models to analyze and forecast business performance.
  • Provide insights into variances and trends, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Strategic Analysis:
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term strategic plans.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to support strategic decision-making.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and new business initiatives.
  • Management Reporting:
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Summarize financial results, key metrics, and variance analysis with actionable insights.
  • Financial Performance Analysis:
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to assess business performance.
  • Provide analysis on profitability, cost drivers, and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with accounting, sales, operations, and other departments to gather data and insights.
  • Support the integration of financial planning with operational planning processes.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Continuously enhance FP&A processes and methodologies to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Implement best practices and tools for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Mentor and develop a team of FP&A professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Provide guidance and support on complex financial issues and analyses.

EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
  • Proven experience, with at least 5 years in FP&A roles, preferably in plastics, manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial systems and ERP software; proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders.
  • Plastics Manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to be covered under the Company's automobile insurance are required.
