Job Description

The National Sales Leader will oversee the development and execution of the company’s national sales strategy. This role is responsible for driving sales growth, managing a team of sales leaders, and ensuring the achievement of revenue targets across all regions. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the sales process, and the ability to inspire and motivate a high-performing team. In addition, they will have a key understanding of the production process and work closely with the operations and supply chain teams to execute customer orders efficiently and profitably. The National Sales Leader will work closely with and report to the CEO. The candidate will be expected to work at the headquarters in Glendale and travel as needed to meet company targets.

Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive national sales strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Revenue Growth: Drive the achievement of state, regional and national sales targets, through effective territory management, market analysis, and strategic account planning.
  • Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
  • Performance Management: Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, providing regular feedback, coaching, and assistance to team members to ensure they meet or exceed targets. Attend sales meetings, new customer roll outs and other hand-on help as needed.
  • Budget Management: Manage the national sales budget, optimizing resources to maximize ROI and profitability.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs, providing insights to the leadership team for strategic decision-making.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Marketing, Production, Supply Chain and Finance, to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.


Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing multi-regional or national sales teams. Experience in a beverage or CPG company a plus.
  • Experience with production and supply chain operations preferred.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and achieving revenue targets.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in coaching and developing sales professionals.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Proficient in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel nationally as required to support regional teams and key customer relationships.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull up to 40 pounds. Ability to crouch, reach and grasp. Ability to sit in a car or in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
