JOB SUMMARY

This position oversees all aspects of programming and provides supervision of staff within the Residential program in Grand Forks, ND to ensure excellent customer service to clients, staff and vendors, and provides a leadership role in the promotion of the program and ShareHouse within the community.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Director of Clinical Services supervises various roles, including but not limited to:

  • Clinical positions
  • Office/Clerical positions

DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL SERVICES DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provide direct supervision of clinical staff in group and individual settings on a quarterly basis in day and evening programs.
  • Provide staff supervision to include weekly meetings with clinical staff, treatment plan review, performance management and setting of goals and objectives to provide sufficient feedback, ensuring development and growth of staff and excellent care to clients
  • Present training to existing staff to include state licensing requirements, policies and procedures, changes in legislation and/or treatment programs, and training/orientation to new staff upon hire to ensure legal and corporate policy compliance
  • Complete administrative duties to include program direction, development of policy and procedure, maintain files and records to ensure smooth and continued operation of program
  • Work with President and Controller in reviewing and adhering to annual program budget to demonstrate fiscal responsibility to the Board of Directors
  • Attend administrative and other meetings as required to maintain and increase awareness of organizational goals and objectives; communicate information as necessary to staff
  • Provide group/client primary services to include facilitation of groups and meetings as necessary to ensure sufficient level of care for clients
  • Provide leadership in the advocacy of Outpatient Services and ShareHouse, and represent the organization at outside meetings in a positive manner to increase awareness of and generate interest in program
  • Provide and maintain reliable and prompt attendance, with the ability to work the schedule dictated by business necessity

PERIODIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor/oversee all contract labor, interns and consulting staff to ensure continued operation of program
  • Work with Human Resources to hire quality staff in a timely manner to ensure continued operation of program
  • Assist in development of marketing materials to promote all ShareHouse programming
  • Serve on committees as assigned by President
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 4-year (Bachelor’s) degree in a human services-related field such as psychology, social work, criminal justice or similar area of study; and
  • 5 years work-related experience along with;
  • Minimum of 2 years management/supervision
  • Master’s degree in related area of study preferred

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATES

  • Prefer current Licensed Addiction Counselor certification or ability to obtain license(s)
  • May be required to possess and maintain valid driver license and be able to be insured according to company insurance standards
  • May be required to be CPR and First Aid Certified, dependent upon staffing levels

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Possess working familiarly with and knowledge of state and Federal laws and regulations, and company policies/procedures that apply to chemical dependency treatment
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret business communication
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate in both written and oral forms
  • Ability to comprehend written and oral communication
  • Ability to proof and check documents for accuracy
  • Demonstrate a high level of skill with interpersonal relationship-building
  • Ability to use independent judgment in order to solve diverse and complex problems
  • Ability to management multiple, competing tasks and demands and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to establish relationships with clients, peers, direct reports and management
  • Ability to handle crisis and emotionally-charged situations with poise and professionalism
  • Ability to type/keyboard with minimal errors
  • Possess strong motivational , negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to gain cooperation from others

This position works in an environment with few physical discomforts; may occasionally be exposed to drafts, noise, temperature variations and odors.
