Title: Business Development Manager

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team. As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and driving new business opportunities to support the growth and success of our organization. By identifying market trends, analyzing customer needs, and developing strategic partnerships, you will play a key role in expanding our customer base and increasing revenue.

You must be a leader in the art of creating, positioning, selling and managing integrated programs, including Live Event Sponsorships, Annualized Corporate Memberships and Digital Platforms, Services and clearly demonstrate the ability to articulate value of the robust offerings of the Sustainable Brands platform to senior-level executives in global Fortune 1000 companies.

You should possess a passion for sustainability, and net positive business, with strong desire to change the way commerce is done today. Must be able to function and thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and bring an ability to influence and persuade internal and external partners & team members. Analytical and data driven decision making skills are highly desirable along with a clear communication style.

Responsibilities:

1. Business Development and Sales for all the Sustainable Brands platform: events, digital offerings, SB services (incl. market research, brand assessments, advertising measurement tools), and memberships

2. Deliver an annualized sales budget with responsibility for generating new business and engaging with and renewing existing customers.

3. Seek to engage with B2B and B2C Global 1000 companies horizontally and vertically, finding the decision maker and crafting custom engagement opportunities

4. Actively contribute to SB’s mission and growth opportunities across all business / product suites

5. Using a consultative approach, develop client-focused packages to include the appropriate SB membership level, additional tickets and licenses, and services add-ons

6. Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations, proposals, and contract negotiations to secure new business ventures.

7. Manage leads and accounts in Salesforce, documenting all interactions

8. Continuously stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and customer needs to adapt and enhance business development strategies.

9. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to maximize brand exposure and business opportunities.

10. Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, lead generation, and networking.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.

2. Proven track record of at least 5 years in business development or sales roles. Experience in B2B sales preferred.

Proactive, engaged & innovative thought leader and prefer a subject matter expert in Sustainability (environmental, societal) with a thirst for knowledge about the industry.

3. Strong understanding of sales principles, market dynamics, and business strategy.

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively.

5. Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

6. Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

8. Proficiency in using CRM software, Salesforce, and Google Suite.

9. Willingness to travel as required.
