JOB SUMMARY

The primary focus of this position is furthering the mission of the museum through its outreach and volunteer advocacy efforts in the community through outreach initiatives, including but not limited to the design and distribution of Play@Home kits, onsite and offsite outreach events in collaboration with schools, and other community partners. This position will also help support the museum operations and mission based experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Outreach Management:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key community partners.
  • Create an outreach calendar and attend and oversee each outreach.
  • Work with Director of Programs to create and oversee budgets and annual
    outreach calendar
  • Work with Director of Programs and Director of Operations to schedule staff to
    attend outreach events
  • Work with grants department to ensure grant outcomes are achieved
  • Assist with large scale events such as Day of Play each year.
  • Create and implement individualized outreach programming with the support of
    the Director of Programs
  • Maintain and procure outreach supplies
    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • ? Builds and maintains positive working relationships with staff, volunteers and board of directors.
  • ? Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Ability to articulate, embrace and adhere to the mission of GRCM and to communicate the mission effectively to guests, staff and volunteers.
  • Able to communicate effectively with co-workers, museum visitors and the general public when using email, telephone and/or face-to-face.
  • Excellent project management skills, with experience in managing and supervising administrative projects.
  • Possess excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong command over written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications, including MS Office, Altru database software; ability to
    utilize phone technologies.
  • A multi-tasker with a strong ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and produce quality results on time with attention to
    detail.
  • Ability to be flexible and creatively solve problems.

  • EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelors or 5 years experience preferred
