Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct job hazard analysis (JHA) of all positions on the production floor and update the JHAs as needed
- Conduct annual refresher training to all employees in the area of health, safety, ergonomics and other required aspects
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in all areas of safety
- Coordinate with the Director of Safety to hold safety committee meetings monthly
- Walk the production floor every 3 hours to ensure that safety protocols are followed by employees
- Conduct facility safety GEMBA walks and document findings
- Develop a strong relationship with employees and facilitate employee-led behavior-based safety process in a team-based environment
- Address any safety concerns with the management team immediately
- Work collaboratively with different departments including production, warehouse, QA and maintenance to ensure the workplace safety
- Conduct employee incident investigation to uncover root cause and track completion of corrective actions
- Perform other duties assigned
- Conduct assessments of chemical inventories, ensuring SDS's are present and materials are stored and handled safely.
- Identify, coordinate and implement the use of best practices in the EHS field.
- Develop and deliver training on EHS compliance topics.
- Gather data and report on Bright's EHS key performance indicators.
- Remain current on new legislation, codes, technologies and developments in the EHS field.
- Regularly travel between the two New Albany OH Bright locations to evaluate safe work practices, build strong EHS culture, and deliver training.
- Investigate accident and incident reports within 24 hours of occurrence. Analyze reports to identify causal factors and trends, prepare recommendations for corrective action to eliminate or minimize potential hazards, and communicate information to stakeholders.
- Conduct new employee EHS orientation.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit; also talk (communicate) and hear (listen); reach with hands and arms; employee must occasionally lift or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds. The employee must be able to drive a forklift/reach truck and/or turret.

- REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 - 2 years of work experience in workplace environmental, health and safety program management.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, policies, programs, PPE, environmental policies (EPA), safety engineering, accident/injury investigation procedures and operating rules, etc.
